We have a wonderful team of teachers: all of them are highly professional, with relevant educations and extensive experience in teaching Hebrew as a foreign language. They are all eager and enthusiastic about one thing  only: enabling you to learn Hebrew as fast and as efficiently as possible, using various means such as videos,songs, newspapers, books and many more. Here you can read a bit about them:

Michal Oppenhaim is the director of the Ulpan and also part of the teaching staff. She holds a BA in Geography and Biology, an MA in State Audit and Accountability and a Teaching Certification from haifa University. After 25 years of teaching in various establishments, such as Ulpan Gordon in Tel Aviv, Carmel school in Hong Kong and many others, Michal is as passionate as ever about teaching Hebrew, and is currently very busy maintaining our Ulpan's reputation as one of the best schools for Hebrew in Tel Aviv. In her free time Michal enjoys jogging, reading and travelling.

Michal has a BA in psychology and like many of our teachers, learned teaching Hebrew as a second language at the Hebrew University. She taught in various programmes of the Jewish Agency and is currently working on her MA in Bible Studies. Michal loves books, is crazy about the Bible, and has a worrying tendency to sing out of key, but with great joy, during her lesson

Rachel has 36 years of experience as a teacher. She started off as a middle school teacher, and since 1990 has been teaching Hebrew Language in the Ulpan system.Rachel has a BA in Education and Music, and an MA in Jewish History.

Zvi, a native of New York City, is a graduate of Columbia University with a background in Linguistics. He has taught at Tel Aviv University and has worked as a professional translator. He has had the pleasure of teaching ulpan since 1990.He is a published poet and speaks several languages.

Nir has an MA in Hebrew Language, and he is certified as an instructor in Hebrew language by the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Among other establishments, he has taught in two universities: SISU in Shanghai and Emory in Atlanta.  Nir is much into languages (English, Portugese, German, Spanish and more), reading,  travelling, art and exotic food.

Moria has a BA in Literature and an MA in Educational Studies. In addition, she has studied Life Coaching and practices in this field as well as teaching Hebrew. Moria has taught in various Ulpanim and in high schools.

Apart from her love for teaching Hebrew, Moria likes reading and travelling. She speaks English and Russian.

Ira, a graduate in Sociology, Anthropology and Theatre, loves the Hebrew language and loves the process of teaching it. Ira taught Hebrew at The Hebrew University, (where she completed a Hebrew teachers training course) as well as at the Mila Institute in Jerusalem and in our Ulpan. Ira speaks English, Russian and German.

Shlomit studied Education and Language at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, and is a graduate of "David Yellin College" of Education as well. Shlomit has teaching experience of 40 years(!), 16 of which in high schools. She joined the Ulpan system in 1989 and has taught a large variety of students - from university students, through doctors and nurses, to engineers and retirees.

Hebrew teacher and multi-disiplinary artist, Dina has a B.A. in Italian Language and Literature and an M.A. in European Studies. With a great passion for languages (she speaks six of them) and for people, she finds Hebrew teaching a perfect combination and her love for her profession is evident. You are welcome to peep into Dina's world and see her art at: www.dinasworld.net

Dan is a graduate of Beit Zvi drama school, and also studied Theater Directing and Education at Seminar HaKibbutzim. He has been teaching Speech and Text for drama students since 2000. He is a certified Hebrew teacher by the Hebrew University and is thrilled to be teaching at the Ulpan. Dan also records books at the Central Library for the Blind, and speaks Hebrew, English and Spanish.

Rachel studied Fine Arts at the Bezalel Academy in Jerusalem, and is currently doing her MA in translation (from French) in Bar Ilan University. She is certified to teach Hebrew by the Hebrew University and has been teaching since 2007 in Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Paris and Caracas. Rachel likes sports, arts and languages.

Tamar has a B.A in Southeast Asia Studies from Tel Aviv University. She is a certified Hebrew teacher by the Hebrew University and has taught Hebrew in various establishments, among which the Hebrew University, Beit Tsafafa in Jerusalem and others. Tamar loves learning and teaching foreign languages - she's learnt (so far) English, French, Arabic and Chinese.
